OpenShift Container Platform 4.9 released
Red Hat has released version 4.9 of the OpenShift Container Platform (RHSA-2021:3759).
This release uses Kubernetes 1.22 with CRI-O runtime.
New features and enhancements
This release adds improvements related to the following components and concepts:
- Installation Ingnition config is removed upon boot
- Support for installing a cluster on Microsoft Azure Stack Hub using user-provisioned infrastructure
- Pausing machine health checks before updating the cluster
- Increased size of Azure subnets within the machine CIDR
- Support for AWS regions in China
- Expanding the cluster with Virtual Media on the baremetal network
- Required administrator acknowledgment when upgrading from OpenShift Container Platform 4.8 to 4.9
- Support for installation on RHOSP deployments that use PCI passthrough
- Upgrading etcd version 3.4 to 3.5
- Installing a cluster on IBM Cloud using installer-provisioned infrastructure
- Improved support for Fujitsu hardware on installer-provisioned clusters
- Access to node logs from the Node page in web console
- Break down cluster uitlization by node type in the cluster dashboard
- User preferences page introduced
- Hide default projects from project list
- Add user preferences in the web console
